The gambling capital of Asia (former Portuguese colony) had another year of growth, reaching in 2012, $ 38 billion in gaming revenue. This figure represents an increase of 13.5% over 2011 ($ 33 billion).
To reach $ 38 billion, Macau has benefited from the best month ever - December. Last month was the most profitable ever for the Macanese casinos, with a total of $ 3.540 billion of revenue.
The Las Vegas Review Journal says that the figure touted by Macau casinos is greater than the sum of all casinos in the United States of America in 2011 ($ 35.64 billion).
