Caesars Makes Plans for Online Poker Platform

Caesars Interactive has received an online poker operator license from Nevada authorities, and said that it will launch a new online poker platform in 2013.

The new platform will benefit from a three-pronged advantage – Caesars’ unbeatable industry reputation; the iconic World Series of Poker brand; and the solid know-how of its partner-in-venture, 888 Holdings.

Caesars has said that it will launch its new online poker site as a WSOP brand, and will use 888 to provide back-end support. The project is still awaiting the approval of 888 Holding’s license application by the Nevada Gambling Commission, although this shouldn’t be long coming, according to industry analysts.

The group, which is the 17th to receive an online gambling license by the Nevada authorities, plans to roll out an intrastate online poker platform for Nevada players only, which will serve as the basis for an extended brand once federal legislation allows the spread of online poker nationwide, and/or when Nevada signs a share-agreement with other states to pool their customer bases.
